Background and call to mission

Growing up in Elim as my dad pastored, I found myself at Regents studying Applied Theology. I was able to go on a couple of short-term missions and one in particular changed my life. I went to a refugee camp and I prayed “God break my heart for what breaks yours”. We were only in the camp for 2 hours but my life completely changed. My heart was burdened with God’s love for people, who had come from around the world to Europe for a better life, and many didn’t know Jesus. On my way home from that trip I felt God say to me “I say: Go out into the world, but I am sending the world to you”.

After Regents, I was a youth pastor in an Elim Church for 4 years and in that time I spent time with asylum seekers in the local community. I met many Farsi speakers and I deeply felt God’s love for them. After Covid I went and trained with 3 Mission organisations, learning different components of mission to other faith backgrounds and cultures. Two of those were YWAM (Youth With a Mission) and Elim who I still work with now.

My heart and ministry

My heart is for those who have fled for their lives to find hope and the fullness of life in Jesus (with a heart specifically for, but not limited to Iranians, Afghans and Kurds). Working with 2 local churches, I am currently creating a space for asylum seekers to hangout, play games and have coffee. Helping to build an international community, restore dignity and to love them like Jesus does. From this group we also run a Bible study for those who want to join. There is also opportunity for some to try coming to a Church setting, if they want to (and they have!). I am also helping with a Farsi speaking Bible study group twice a week and I am having Farsi lessons to continue building relationships. Although I am based in the UK, I take short trips overseas working with other teams and their ministries with asylum seekers. Sometimes I meet people who then come to the UK that I can continue to build connections with them.
