England

During the 4 months since our last newsletter, God has been helping us get more UK Church connections, that we hope and pray will lead to the mission field opening up to more and more people. We have visited and ministered in churches in Hillingdon, Luton, Staines, Barking, Ashingdon and Delancey. We thank God for these amazing churches and people.

Enjoying being back in England and on Mission!/em>

We have enjoyed being back in England on several occasions; for our annual Elim conference ELS, as well as bringing Estonian teams to Luton and Delancey, 2 very different mission fields!

Alan also managed to fit in his annual bike ride with his brothers, this time in the Peak District!

Ministry

Estonia

Over these months we have had the privilege of preaching and ministering in the EKNK churches located in Viljandi, Kuressaare, Muhu, Orissaare, Abja, Hiiumaa, Rae, Lihula and our home town Parnu; taking the ‘mission message’ to them. We were also able to attend the annual EKNK Summer Camp and host one of the evening services.

In our role as International Mission Leaders for EKNK, we are also now connecting with the EKNK Youth as well as the Bible School.

We have had the great privilege of hosting 2 teams into Estonia as well, from the Leigh-on-Sea and Delancey churches. These have been exceptional trips in different ways and we want to thank these churches for investing in the gospel in Estonia.

There are now 2 young adults here, who have been accepted on to this years Elim Missions Academy, and we are excited to partner in this way with our missions department.

Mobile Coffee Ministry Project

Introducing our new/old van

sep4

1979 Ford Transit 100

We have been blessed with a van that is no longer being used for it’s intended coffee ministry purpose, having now moved into a building. The owners were hoping it could continue to be used as a mobile coffee ministry, while we had been wondering how to begin such an adventure. God brought us together and after much discussion and prayer we accepted this amazing gift.

Next Steps

sep5

Moving forward we are setting up the project and getting the van back on the road. Please pray for the MOT and service and that these go smoothly. We expect some hopefully minor expenses. Then we will create the logos and get that van ready for use which will include buying the initial items like coffee, cups, stirrers, fridge, water, battery packs, an espresso machine and grinder. There will be lots of new checklists and processes to setup and follow.

Raising Funds - we need your help!

Any speciality coffee project needs great beans and also key to this are the espresso machine and grinder. The entry level for producing high quality and with the volumes we expect to serve, is around £3,000 for the machine and £1,000 for the grinder. The startup cost are going to be around £2,000 - so we need your help to raise £6,000.

Why a non-profit Ministry?

Speciality coffee is its own ecosystem, from the coffee providers, roasters, running the ministry and creating community. This will help us will outreach and evangelism all over Estonia as different mission team visit us, but more than that, we are praying and hoping to help plant new churches here using the van and coffee as a natural way of connecting with people. We can then invite them into perhaps an Alpha course or to coffee focused community events. Any surplus would go into helping fund those new churches and spread the gospel message. EKNK International Missions

Mission Training

We are training numerous churches in short-term missions and have now created training 4 sessions: 1) Introduction to Missions, 2) Receiving Teams, 3) Sending Teams and 4) Team Leaders. These have been recorded in English and video editing is underway. After that is complete, each session will have subtitles and audio voiceover in both Estonian and Russian.

International Partnerships

We are strengthening existing partnership with the UK and Georgia, but also expanding into new nations as God leads us, like Greece. There seems to have been natural and some ‘old wells’ to re-dig in Sweden, Finland as well. In 2027 we will look beyond Europe into other continents.

Estonian Team in Kavala, Greece

Short-Term Leaders

It has been great to disciple and mentor people towards greater mission involvement and 2 young adults have now been through our team leader training, with 1 leading their first team in 2026 and the other doing so in the spring of 2027.

Medium-Term Placements

It is with great joy that we will be sending our first placement overseas. They will be living on the Island of Guernsey for 9 months and will serve in the Delancey church. Exciting times ahead for both the missionary and the church!

Freedom In Christ

Vabadus Kristuses Estonia

Please continue to pray for the newly translated Russian FIC course, that it will bless Russian speakers globally as well as those within Estonia, which is about 30% of the population.

There have been Estonian FIC courses running in Muhu, Valga and Tallinn. We are making plans to run another online course this year. We need wisdom in the best timing of when to start and which day of the week will work best for people. We open these to people from any denomination as this tool really does stretch well across them and helps with greater unity.

Please pray for those who were assessing the course in the Baptist denomination and that they would embrace the teaching and begin using it widely across their congregations.

Resources

Learn and support at the same time

We are keen to make disciples and have written books on what we believe is the single most important aspect of Jesus’ teaching – his Kingdom.

Buying these resources will help to support us as missionaries while you learn about this crucial but yet, almost untapped subject.

Partnering with us

Come and help spread the Gospel of the Kingdom

We want to sincerely thank those who have supported us in this amazing gospel journey with Jesus in Estonia! Currently, we still need to raise an additional £500 per month of personal finances, now that we are fully dedicated to this exciting Kingdom work. Why not join us through prayer, mission trips and giving financially. So please pray about joining a short-term mission team into Estonia, or even consider leading one from your church? Contact at alan.osborn@elim.org.uk for any further details.
