Change of Plans

osborne1To Estonia!

Our announcement is that at the end of October 2023 we will be moving to Estonia to serve as Elim Missionaries. Our new role there is a little unknown, but as we step out in faith things are beginning to take shape. Since 2019, we have been serving in Estonia on a part-time basis while pastoring in the UK. The work in Estonia has led us mainly in the direction of introducing and establishing the Freedom in Christ (FIC) course for Christians of all backgrounds and streams.

Media Work

osborne210-episode series on Estonian Christian channel TV7

Earlier this year, God opened some unexpected doors that we jumped through as we sensed his calling to relocate to Estonia full-time. These included a radio interview on the Christian station Raadio7 and also recording a 10-episode TV series on the foundations of living in freedom, for the Christian TV channel TV7. They also air on cable networks in Israel, Finland and Estonia, as well as IP TV in Sweden and Russia. The show goes out initially in Estonia on Thursday nights at 8pm (EST time) from 19.10.23 for 10-weeks.

But Jesus said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” Luke 4:43

Village of Hope

This work of discipleship is through our non-profit Vabadus Kristuses (Freedom in Christ). Next month (November) we will be helping to embed the course fully into the programme and work of the Village of Hope (Lootuse Küla), an addiction rehabilitation centre.

‘We are also going to be working closely with Elim’s Global Partner: the EKNK Pentecostal Church. They have 35 churches of various sizes spread throughout Estonia.

This work will include overseeing their church planting and also helping to re-establish their overseas mission efforts to other nations. We are excited to be working with a great group of people who are hungry to grow in God and have accepted us with open arms.

Resources

Learn and support at the same time

We are keen to make disciples and have written books on what we believe is the single most important aspect of Jesus’ teaching – his Kingdom.

Buying these resources will help to support us while you learn more about this either by yourself or with others in a group setting.

Partnering with us

How to help us to spread the gospel

We would love for you to partner with us in our calling and gospel mission to Estonia. Could you perhaps consider being part of a short-term mission team into this nation, or even lead a team from your church or region? Either way, we would be excited to help host and be part of arranging your trip. Do please contact us at alan.osborn@elim.org.uk for further details.

Prayer needs

Your prayers are needed! Estonia is one of the top ten most atheistic countries in the world, with both high alcoholism and suicide rates. Please pray for:

  • Our safe final transition to Estonia
  • The ongoing work of EKNK and the Village of Hope
  • For the increased roll out of FIC into all church denominations, helping to make disciples who learn to live in the abundant life of Jesus.
