King’s Kids Indonesia June 2021 Update

Well Hello, warmest greetings from the forever hot and sunny Indonesia, so much has been happening I thought it was time to write a little update.

My February update told you of our plans to rent another house for our single mum ministry I’m delighted to report it has now become a reality, we have been busy painting, plastering, putting up partitions and moving in umpteen beds and cupboards and have now started moving in the people. We will be starting the discipleship training early August, beforehand we have staff training and getting all the mums & kids moved in and settled. We have 6 mums and their children registered for the school, 3 staff and the family of 4 who will be overseeing the ministry and day to day running. There will be a total of 11 adults and 11 children in the house so we had to get smart with how to fit them all in! It’s a big spacious house, with big rooms, great light and ventilation so they won’t feel cramped at all, not sure how the neighbours will feel about having 11 children move in next door! Here are just a few of the mums with their kids

The single mums that are coming to us are all vulnerable and really need a helping hand to get back on their feet and be directed towards their God given purpose in life, that is our main aim to help them achieve that and we are making it as affordable as we possibly can for them by offering them to go through this 3 month live in discipleship training at a heavily discounted total fee of only GBP200 per family, (but even that will be quite a challenge for some as they are coming with practically nothing but some clothes). That’s what we ask them to come up with but it by no way covers the daily living costs and so we are praying and trusting for people who would like to help this ministry and be involved in changing the lives and futures of these ladies and their children by sponsoring a mum and her child/children. It’s an amazing opportunity please would you consider it?

For the Discipleship school itself we have an enviable list of amazing speakers lined up to teach on a different topic each week. Some of these are;- Knowing God, Hearing God’s voice, The Character of God, Identity and Destiny, Sin, repentance and openness, Authority and submission, Relationships, Father Heart of God, Evangelism, Vision and Mission, Teamwork and Personality, Leadership & Mentoring, Spiritual Warfare. The speakers are all prominent Godly YWAM leaders who have years of experience and such rich insight, knowledge and experience to impart to our ladies, they really will be so so blessed!

With all these extra ladies I have 4 extra children to enroll in school as well as 4 kids moving up from elementary to junior high and 5 kids moving from junior to senior high. These are each different schools so it’s a case enrolling again with all the startup fees ranging from 200-300GBP, it’s a huge expense and we are praying for people who feel particularly interested in investing in our children’s education, June and July are our most expensive months of the year as we pay for the new school term, enrollment, uniforms, books, textbooks and shoes we could really use your support if possible. We will have 3 (possibly 4) kids in kindergarden, 15 in primary/elementary, 6 in junior high, 6 in senior high and one in university …32 in full time education 8 different locations…a logistical headache for school runs but most of school is still online as the covid numbers have risen sharply again after Ramadan. It’s traditional for everyone to go visit their families at this time just like our Christmas or the American Thanksgiving. The government took many steps to prevent this, including shutting all borders and public transport, but the people were still very determined to go home and so the numbers of positive cases have increased dramatically! This means we have little hope of getting the kids back into the classroom for the foreseeable future and so will have to continue with online at home…the headache continues!

Here are my 4 moving up to junior high, followed by my 5 moving into senior high

So that’s a quick update from us, praise God we are all well and healthy, keeping everyone home as much as possible to reduce the risk of exposure to Covid, A big thank you for taking the time to read this, we covet your prayers and support and love that you are interested in our big family. Thank you so much for all your support and prayers over the years, please continue to pray for us and let us know how we can pray for you too, we often pray for you with all the children and staff. We aim to teach the kids never to take for granted those who pray for and support us, and that they are truly blessed to have so many people interested in their lives and future. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for loving us and caring for us the way you do. May you be blessed and strengthened today in all you do.

God Bless you

Love Sheryl, Novi and All at King’s Kids
