Matt and Ellie Heywood News April 2026

Lately, I’ve been struck by a powerful theme in the Bible: how God provided for the Israelites in the wilderness—not in excess, not all at once, but faithfully each day. They were given just enough for their needs, and instructed not to store it up. Each morning was an invitation to trust again, to rely on God’s provision anew.

“Each one is to gather as much as he needs… No one is to keep any of it until morning.” — Exodus 16:16, 19 (NIV)

In a world that urges us to stockpile, secure, and strive for more, this moment in the wilderness offers a different rhythm — one of daily dependence, quiet trust, and the reminder that what we are given today is enough.

SUMMER HOLIDAY CLUB

We had an incredible time at our summer school (holiday club), where we hosted a three-day morning program for children aged 3–12. The theme was based on the story of how God saved the Israelites through Moses, reminding us that “God will fight for you.”

It was a powerful message, helping the children understand that God is still with them and cares deeply for them today.

We were also blessed to have a wonderful team join us from City Gates Antipolo, working alongside some of our young people. It was such a joy to see everyone serving together with enthusiasm and love.

We truly valued the time spent with both the children and the team. It was a deeply encouraging few days, filled with fellowship, faith, and joy as we reflected on God’s word together.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated towards our motorbike. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to purchase a Yamaha Fazio along with essential safety equipment, including helmets and jackets.

This has already made a significant difference, allowing us to travel more easily into town and around the island. It is a huge help for our day-to-day activities and ministry, and we truly appreciate your support in making this possible.

Youth Alpha

We started our Youth Alpha series this month, and it’s already been a meaningful time of connection, questions, and discovery. Youth Alpha creates a space where young people can explore life, faith, and purpose in an open and honest environment—no pressure, just conversation.

Each session has been filled with thoughtful discussions, laughter, and moments of reflection as our youth begin to wrestle with big questions about God and what it means to follow Him. It’s been encouraging to see them show up, engage, and journey together.

Prayer Request

We’re visiting the UK this week! Please pray for a safe and smooth journey, and for God’s protection over us as we travel and fly back.

We’re also really excited for the opportunity to visit churches and share all that God is doing in Coron. Please pray for meaningful connections, open hearts, and that our time there would be encouraging both to us and to those we meet.
