I hope everyone who is reading this is doing well. Thank you all for your support and care for Elim Cambodia.

Please keep praying for our church. Please pray for the girls in Be Free that each of them will grow and learn during their time with us. Please also pray for the opportunity for new girls to come to the programme.

God Bless You, Love Sokim

We are all missing meeting together as our church family. We are thankful that many of our church members live nearby to each other so it is easy for us to see each other throughout the week.

Pastor Chamnap and Pastor Sarak continue to support the church members and are always looking at ways of how the church can be a support to the local community.

Our daily devotions continue to be posted on the Elim Cambodia Facebook page and we hope and pray that these will encourage our church members and anyone else who chooses to watch them.

One of our staff members has just stopped work for her maternity leave. She is due this coming week so please pray for her and for the safe delivery of her baby.

Be Free Cambodia and The Early Learning Centre

Be Free

befreeThis month one of the girls graduated from the pro- gramme. It was a different graduation than normal but we were able to gather with a small group of people to celebrate her. She was emotional as we prayed with her for her future. We are hoping that we will hear soon that she has secured a position in a new organization but it has been difficult to confirm this with COVID-19.

The girls and staff have continued to study English and each morning they have devotions and can share their prayer requests and worship God together.

Staff creating videos for ELC families

Our ELC staff are continuing to create weekly educational videos to be sent to the children. The staff are growing in confidence teaching online.

We would ask that you would pray for the children of Cambodia. For their safety and health at this time. Pray for each of them as they are still unable to attend school and that they will be able to use the free time they have wisely.

Church Planting News

Some of the church planting team at the provinces

We have been made aware of very needy families in the provinces who have been greatly impacted by COVID-19. Some of the families are struggling to have enough money to support their family and for food. Elim Cambodia are prayerfully considering how we can help these people.

In late May the church planting team went to visit partners that met through the vision casting seminars that took place in Phnom Penh. God is doing wonderful things. There are great stories of God saving families who live in minority areas, pastors who have set up churches for ex-prisoners and for their families, and one family who were provided with the finances they needed to get a bigger building to house all of the people who wanted to attend church. Please keep all these people in your prayers.

English Classes

english-sIt is looking very likely that schools will not be able to open in Cambodia until November this year.

That is still a long time away and we ask that you would pray for all the staff that are involved with education that they would be patient and continue to develop new ideas to help teaching online or to prepare resources and lessons for when the children can return to school.

The ELC staff are continuing to study English 2 times a week and we believe this is a fun time for them to relax and focus on learning.

Prayer Points

  • The world wide situation of COVID-19.
  • Pray for our church planters who are having difficulties and negative impacts because of COVID-19.
