Elim Missionary Requirements

Elim Missions believe that all Christians are called to make disciples wherever they are. The only academic requirement to serve with Elim Missions is to complete the Missionary Academy.

Elim Missionaries are to reflect Biblical standards at all times. Whilst not an exhaustive list Elim Missionaries are to demonstrate: “joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit” (Galatians 5:22-23).

Elim Missionaries are expected to be self-aware of their strengths, personality types and able to operate in their spiritual gifts. Elim Missionaries are to avoid the love of money and dishonest gain, being heavy drinkers, quarrelsome, violent or of quick temper. Instead, Elim Missionaries are required to be upright, holy, disciplined, above reproach and loving what is good. They are to be faithful to their family, gentle, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable and able to disciple others with a history of serving in their local church (1 Timothy 3: 1 15; Titus 1: 5 9).

Throughout the course of the Missionary Academy, applicants will be required to demonstrate evidence of competency in the following areas: Biblical and Theological Understanding, Mission and Evangelism, Leadership and Interaction, Elim Understanding and Engagement, Personal and Spiritual Development, Ministry and Discipleship, Cultural and Community Awareness, Communication and Organisational Management.

All Elim Missionaries are then required to adhere to the Code of Conduct, Terms and Conditions and Elim Policies.
