Lynette Orange: March 2019 Newsletter

There is a Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1 states: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”.

My past few newsletters have emphasised the idea of seasons and I feel that God has been teaching me so much through this analogy. God has brought me on an amazing journey and it really hard to believe that I have been in the Philippines for 8 years now!

The needs of the academy have grown so much and as of June this year we will now be responsible for 3 campuses across the Philippines. God has exceeded my wildest dreams. I know God still has lots for me to do here and I am excited.

But amongst that I also know that the next season in my life in which God is calling me to is one of rest, recovery and rejuvenation in order to be more effective on the field. Therefore, when I return home this April I will be conducting what is known as ‘home assignment’ wherein I will get to spend some extended time in the UK. It will be a mixture of rest, spiritual replenishment and also raising the profile of the City Gates project among more churches around the UK.

I am really looking forward to this time and hope that we can get to spend some quality time together!

Christmas in the Philippines!

Christmas in the Philippines is always such a fun time. We maximize this opportunity to reach out to our community and share the true meaning of Christmas. This year City Gates was so blessed to not host just 1 Christmas party but 5! Thanks to sponsors from the Philippines and around the world. Furthermore, we held a mass wedding for 6 couples as well as our annual nativity play. It was a busy, yet fulfilling time. As a result of these activities we have seen an increase in church attendance of parents from the academy, which is such an answer to prayer.

The Orange’s in Manila

It was so wonderful to have Mum and Dad join me for Christmas this year in the Philippines. To make it even more special they managed to arrive in time to see one of the highlights of my year, the CGA Nativity Play. We had a fun packed 10 days together and it was such a blessing to have them spend Christmas with me.

Elim Global Asia Conference

Following the success of the Elim Global Asia conference 18 months ago in Cambodia it was now the turn of the Philippines to host this year’s conference. We had 4 days and 3 nights of sweet fellowship and encouragement with our brothers and sisters working in partnership with Elim in countries all across Asia Pacific region.

Performing for the BWA and British Ambassador

CGA Elementary Department were invited as special guests to perform at the home of the British Ambassador as he hosted the annual British Women’s Association Christmas Dinner.

With love always,

Lynette
