Planting & growing churches

VISION 20/20 PRAYER FOCUS: 8-15 January

Throughout January, the Elim church family across the nations are joining together in prayer and focus their prayers on Elim’s Vision 20/20: a three-year initiative to mobilise the whole Elim movement to a fresh wave of mission and ministry.

This week we're focusing our prayers on planting and growing healthy, transformational, life-giving churches in every city, town and community.

Chris Cartwright shares about planting and growing churches

“Pioneering and growing healthy churches is part of our spiritual DNA. We're committed to seeing life-giving churches in every community, town and city across the nation.

Church is God's idea. Someone said the local church is the hope of the world and he's planned that when we come together united in love, caring for and serving one another that others would be attracted into his presence.

But Church doesn't just exist for us. God has planned it that his church would spill out into every part of the community and every stratum of life.

And he's promised to give us compassion for others. He wants to see his church alive in community, reaching out to people as well as drawing them in.

I believe God wants existing churches to flourish and grow but we also need new churches. Every generation needs that pioneering spirit.”

“We are going to be a movement where I believe the priority is going to be continually planting and growing healthy vibrant life-giving churches that are a blessing to their communities, and are living for him and not just for themselves. Places where and people where the kingdom comes.

God has given his Spirit that we might be empowered to reach out in new ways to a new generation in a changing and rapidly accelerating culture.

It's so important that we pray for a fresh move of God and for spirit empowered churches.”

Thank God for your church and then pray for it. Pray that you would grow in unity and love for one another. Pray that the vision that God has called you to will thrive. And then pray for another local church or maybe another Elim Church. How can you bless them with your prayers. Ask God that they would be all that God has called them to.

Pray that new Elim churches will be established and pioneered across our nation and the nations. And each church would thrive and flourish would be fruitful bringing spirit empowered transformation to communities. Amen
