Fenners-Sept-1

Fenner Newsletter - August 2017

The True Church can never fail. For it is based upon a rock. – T.S. Eliot

It's been a while since we last sent our news, so here goes with an action packed Newsletter. We stand in awe of God - as we have seen Him bless His children spiritually and physically.

Short term Visit from Keith Jackson and Lee Carmichael

Fenners-Sept-2We were blessed to receive a visit in March from Pastor Keith Jackson from Elim Life Church, Chelmsford and Pastor Lee Carmichael from our sending church, Ingatestone Elim.

  • What a privilege to minister alongside these UK Pastors as we facilitated a Leaders Summit five hours from our home in Lephephane, near Tzaneen in the Northern District.
  • Two visiting UK Pastors preaching in two Emmanuel Churches in the Northern District.
  • Sandwich distribution to the children and packets of maize distributed to the poorest families in Emjindini, Barberton.
  • A four night outreach crusade to the community of Emjindini, Barberton held at Msholozi Emmanuel. We thank God for the many that came to salvation and the lives that were restored.
  • An amazing KidzClub afternoon at Emjindini, Barberton. Lee and Keith presented an awesome talk. Children made salvation commitments and had great spiritual input sowed into their lives. Then sweets from England for the children to enjoy.
  • Great day with all the Bible School students as we combined the 2 schools to study Galatians.

Emmanuel Group National Easter Convention – Maveljan, April 2017

What an enormous privilege to be invited to speak at the 2017 Emmanuel National Easter Conference at Bushbuckridge on Good Friday.

I spoke about "We know the story, but what do we feel for the Cross”, a call back to the benefits of The Cross - Salvation, Healing, Deliverance, Restoration, Re-commitment. A quiet, gentle whisper from the Spirit amongst God's People as they responded to the Word.

Furlough UK – 19 April - 20th June 2017

After not returning home to the UK for eighteen months, we were excited and blessed as we flew out from Johannesburg to London. The community of God's People is priceless. Once again we have experienced love, support and practical assistance from believers who we have hardly met. We came with little expectation - but found Gods blessing enough to meet our needs. From the very place of nothing we received much. Astounded by Divine provision.

  • 28th April - Our first Sunday back, we were overjoyed to have fellowship with our home / sending church at Ingatestone Elim. Robin preached the message, followed by a celebration together with international food and dress.
  • Major awesomeness at Elim Mission Conference in Leeds in May as dynamic speakers spoke great things into our lives one after another. So amazingly blessed.
  • From Elim Missions Conference to Elim Leaders Summit 2017 in Harrogate. Janet and I had the privilege of receiving amazing preaching into our lives, the flame of passion refuelled and vision concreted. Thanks Elim UK!
  • Sadly, while we were in the UK, our house in SA was burgled and ransacked. We lost many of our possessions, some being very sentimental. We are thankful to all who stood alongside at this time, and for the wonderful way God provided through people in restoring to us what we lost.
  • We had an amazing peace over this time, as we realized that Christ can never be stolen from us, and instead of displaying anger we should forgive those who stole from us,and pray for them instead. It is in these Christ moments that we receive our peace.
  • Another sad thing was the unexpected death of Janet sister a few days before we returned home. Fortunately we were able to change our ticket and Janet went to Cape town for the funeral.
  • We are thankful for rest as we visited family in Essex, Scotland and Dublin.
  • We are thankful to the many Elim churches who invited us to speak at your services.
  • Thank you for the wonderful words of encouragement, and gifts we received.
  • Thanks to all who invited us to meals in their homes, and for other special treats.

Bible Schools

We are thankful for the registration of the new first year students at Gutshwa Bible School and for the strengthening of our Second year students at Gutshwa and Hazyview.

Fenners-Sept-3KidzClub

KidzClub continues to function strongly with many of the children of Emjindini attending. The Club is now being run by Elizabeth Mchlanga, the Pastors wife, who we have mentored. She is an incredible blessing to us and the children. We are still involved, but in a support role.

Church Visits

We have visited churches across the area we serve in, where Robin has preached. Many have come to Salvation and we have clearly seen the move of the Holy Spirit. We are thankful that God has called us for such a time as this.

Fenners-Sept-4Community Outreach

  • We run Sanitary Bank for young girls in the schools. This project is still functioning strongly, with many girls benefiting.
  • Food Parcels are being distributed to many of the most vulnerable in our communities.
  • Blanket Distribution - We are thankful that we were able to distribute warm blankets to the vulnerable in the community of Steenbok in the Eastern District. Thank you to Lisburn Elim, Northern Ireland for your generosity.

Visit from Elim International Missions Director and Team - August 2017

Fenners-Sept-5We were abundantly blessed to receive a visit from Pastor Paul Hudson, our Mission Director and his team, Pastor Billy Fenning (Reading Elim), Linda Murray (Elim Missions) and Nicole Le Goupillot (Elim Guernsey). The main reason for their visit was to open a borehole and crop project funded by Elim Missions in Ngwenyene Village.

  • It was a busy few days, we travelled to Lephephane (Tzaneen) to spend time with Emmanuel Assembly, attend an evening midweek service, followed by distributing food parcels to the community.
  • The following day, we drove five hours to Steenbok, through the Kruger National Park where we were blessed to see lions, then we attended the Emmanuel Service on the second night.
  • The third evening involved a Thanksgiving service for the provision of the borehole and crop project at Ngwenyeni Village.
  • Many of the community came to celebrate including the village chief, and we were touched by the many community leaders who stood to speak.
  • Ngwenyeni is one of our villages that are in drought, there is no water and thus no crops. Many know the dryness of thirst and empty stomachs. The borehole has brought life to a desperate community. It was touching to see the hope and future this project has bought to the community.
  • On the Saturday we combined the Bible Schools for an afternoon teaching on Mission and Evangelism.

Thanks

We are so blessed that we work as missionaries for Elim Missions UK, and can be a part what they are doing all over the world. Thank you for your prayers, donations and monthly financial support. We cannot serve without you and we appreciate you enormously!

Blessings
Robin and Jenet
