We are James and Andrea Reeve, we have been married since 2008, we trained and practiced as mental health nurses. We came from very different back grounds, I (James) grew up in a Christian home and made a decision that Jesus was my Saviour in my teenage years. Whereas I (Andrea) had no personal knowledge or understanding of Jesus, until completing an Alpha course prior to our marriage. Since this time, we have been involved in a variety of ministries as a couple and individually. Our home and sending church is Elim Hope Church, Stafford. We have previously been involved in youth ministry, a youth outreach based on a double decker bus, and a number of adult focused community Christian projects.
Our first short term mission trip abroad was to Cambodia in 2015, during this trip the experience of sharing the gospel of Jesus with unreached communities was a turning point in our lives. God’s call for us to go on long term mission was unmissable and we started our exciting journey with Elim Missions. In preparation to go on long term mission we were part of the first Elim Missions Academy and as part of this time of preparation we had a short-term mission trip to Uganda in February 2017.
Since completing the mission’s academy, we had a short term mission trip to Sri Lanka and served 12 months in Trichy, India during which time we were able to do 2 further short term mission trips in Sri Lanka.
We are now excited to be going on our next adventure with Elim International Missions to a placement in Coron, Philippines working with City Gates Academy and Living Epistle Church.
The excitement we feel is accompanied by trepidation of what the future may hold for us, but we hold fast to the realisation and trust that God has full control of our future and has gone before us to prepare the way.
Our heart is to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the unreached and under-reached peoples in what ever nation God calls us to. We believe that through discipleship and getting alongside individuals and using our God given skills and previous experiences God will use us to develop disciples of Jesus. Our aim is to empower and support the local church and individuals to grow in their relationship with God and each other and in so doing going on to reach and disciple others in their communities and beyond.
In Coron we will be working alongside a local pastor and team, assisting in developing the work within City Gates Academy pre-school, growing the local church through discipleship and training and outreaches into the communities.
