The Fenner's December Newsletter

Robin, Janet and Kyla Fenner

As 2016 draws to an end, we look back with thanks at how the hand of God has sustained us, His faithfulness has never failed us and His strength has enabled us in everything as He has directed us in the work here in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

We give Him thanks for the vision, the passion, the strength and His power as we have seen many come to salvation, many breakthroughs and that what has been established standing firm. We serve an amazing, BIG God, who takes the little we have and transforms it into an abundance for the building of His Kingdom.

The one sentence statement:”I will build my Church” rings true for everything that He has touched as we have passionately pursued His plan for our lives.

BIBLE SCHOOLS @ Hazyview and Gutshwa

On 3 December 2016, we gathered at the Thulani church for the First Year Graduation of the students at both Bible Schools. Thirty five students were awarded their first year certificates. The words of the students that spoke from the pulpit bought tears to my eyes, as they spoke of how the Bible Schools had impacted their lives.

Part of our calling onto the mission field is the Vision of strengthening the Church by equipping its leaders and body. In faith we planted two Bible Schools over the last year and a half. At graduation we saw the reality of what God birthed in my heart. My heart is bursting with joy and thanks to our Father. Onwards into 2017 – Year Two commences and new students will register in March.

Church Plant – Phiring

Two months ago, we put up the crusade tent in Phiring, about an hours drive north of Graskop. Many people came to salvation at the crusade, and we have heard awesome testimonies. The new congregation has moved into the building, and we thank God for the twenty adults and many children who now attend the Sunday service.

New Church – Barberton

It has been a joy to visit this new church a number of times. Robin preached at the Thanksgiving service on 3 December.

Grade R – School Graduation

Robin was invited to speak to the parents at the Grade R graduation service for the Glory Hill Primary School in Graskop. We have been speaking at school assemblies throughout the year, so many of the children are known to us.

We are thankful for these Christmas parties held for children all over the world, hosted by Elim UK.

Saturday 19 November – After a huge amount of planning and preparation we hosted the Elim Global Christmas Party for the children of the villages of Graskop, Moromela, Leroro, Matibidi and Pilgrims Rest. We had 183 children attending from these five villages that surround Graskop. The Jeremiah Vilakazi playing accordion Barberton.

Grade R graduation

Villages are up to 60km away from Graskop and the children were transported into Graskop. A day of fun, food, entertainment and ministry. On departure, the children were shown the love of Christ as we presented them each with a party bag and Christmas gift.

Tuesday 5 December – We wanted this great event to bless the children from every church in the Escarpment area, so we held a second party for the children of the outer rural villages of Phiring, Tsekwane and Leboeng. These children come from an area that is poor and remote.

It was a great joy to see the children having a great day, with food, fun, presents and a party bag. Again there was opportunity to minister the Gospel to them.

Thank you to our Elim Missions Director, Paul Hudson for birthing this great Global Christmas Party and also to Elim UK.

Visit to the Northern District

We travelled to Tzaneen for a weekend of ministry. Tzaneen is three hours drive from Graskop. And it was awesome to spend time with the District Leader and his congregation.

Saturday afternoon, 29 October 2016 – Janet ministered to the Ladies – stepping out in faith as she does not normally preach. Janet preached a strong message, and many ladies were challenged. We thank God for His moving in this service.

Saturday evening, 29 October 2016 – A Spirit filled evening at the evening service, Many responded for restoration. We stand in awe as we witnessed the move of the Spirit.

Sunday morning, 30 October 2016 - Robin preached at the morning service. The Holy Spirit fell upon the people as they were saturated by the Word of God. Many came to salvation and many wept as God worked in their lives.

KidzClub and Youth

It has been a great blessing to minister to the young people of the Graskop community on a Friday afternoon and evening. We are excited about what God is doing in these young lives, and for the growth of these Friday clubs. Many young lives have responded to the Gospel. The local Graskop church has doubled in number of children and teenagers attending the Sunday morning service. We thank God for a church member who will be helping with the young people from January 2017.

Visit to the Eastern District

We visited the church in Steenbok, about three hours drive from Graskop. This church is close to the Swaziland border. This is the church that the General Superintendent leads, and it was a great joy to spend the weekend with him and minister to the congregation. The Holy Spirit moved amongst the people, many came forward for salvation and many lives were restored.

Prayer Focus

  • We give thanks for the numerous churches we have visited and ministered too. We give thanks for the mighty move of the Holy Spirit.
  • We give thanks for the many souls that have come to salvation over the last year.
  • We give thanks for the safe return of our daughter, Kyla, who was in the UK for 9 months.
  • Please pray for us we travel long distance over the wide area we minister in.
  • Please pray for the continued strengthening of the children’s work.

As this year ends, we want to say a huge thank you to our financial supporters – your faithfulness in giving has seen dynamic things happening in the Kingdom of God over the last year. We cannot serve here in South Africa without you. Thanks for walking alongside us.

Thank you too for the prayers, encouragement and spiritual support from those many people who hold us before Heaven. We have been strengthened, reignited in passion and inspired.

To Paul Hudson, and the staff at Elim HQ in the UK, you guys rock. Your love, care and support for us on our missionary walk has been a great blessing.

As we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ, we wish you a blessed and peaceful Christmas. As the door closes on 2016, we pray that 2017 will bring you great vision, and you may know the joy and peace of our Heavenly father.
