House of Hope Children and Youth Clubs
Elim Missionaries Bob and Edith McDonald run children’s and youth clubs at Casa Sperantei - meaning House of Hope that was designed to accommodate such meetings. However, by the Spring of 2009 the number of children and teens was too great to be accommodated in the house so the construction of a family centre was commenced in March 2009.
Currently five clubs from five villages use the new centre every week with the McDonalds providing transport via two minibuses.
Three English classes are held each week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.
Each Wednesday evening an all-age club is held; Thursday evenings music and puppet workshops; Friday evenings teens' club. On non-organised evenings the centre is open for recreation and fellowship. An average of 200 children/teens use the centre weekly.
