New photographic book captures 100 years of Elim
Defining Moments, a 176 page photographic book, tells the story of the Elim Pentecostal Church, from its beginnings in 1915 as Welsh evangelist George Jeffreys and a committed band of young men and women determined to reach Ireland with the gospel, to the formation of a Pentecostal movement of churches and ministries which swept the towns and cities of the British Isles.
With little or no advertising they soon filled the largest halls in the nation and their preaching was accompanied by amazing and documented miracles of healing.
From those humble beginnings, God used Elim's early pioneers to light the touch-paper for successive generations to believe God for a move of His Spirit which would see thousands come to faith in Christ and experience the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in their own lives.
Defining Moments - 100 Years of Elim History
In a rich collection of words and images, this is a story of Elim:
A Pentecostal denomination forged one hundred years ago in the furnace of revival and Holy Spirit outpouring.
A church planting and pioneering movement with move than 600 churches in cities, towns and rural communities across the UK.
A growing global network of some 4,367 churches and ministries partnering together to reach nations for Christ.
It is more than the story of one man, however gifted - and it is more than a story from history. It is above all a continuing story, of changed lives and changed communities, being written by thousands of Elim people who continue to believe in the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit for this generation and for the generations to come.
