Praying Forward: resources to help you pray

From praying for friends and family to monthly videos and weekly prayers, Elim Prayer has a growing collection of resources to encourage you and your church in prayer.

You probably carry a few names in your heart. A parent, a sibling, a colleague, a neighbour, a friend who doesn't yet know Jesus, or perhaps someone who once followed Him but has drifted away.

You long for them to know Him, but it can be hard to know where to start, or how to keep praying when nothing seems to be changing.

That's why Elim Prayer created Praying Forward, a three-part video series designed to help you pray intentionally and confidently for the people in your life who don't yet know Jesus.

Hosted by Mark Greenwood and Sarah Whittleston, the series combines biblical encouragement with simple, practical ways to pray.

In Part 1: The big picture, Mark and Sarah draw on Acts 26 to explore how coming to faith is often a journey, marked by big yeses, little yeses and healthy maybes.

Part 2: Friends and family introduces a clear rhythm of Identify, Commit and Connect, encouraging you to pray regularly for specific people and to join with others as you do.

Then, in Part 3: Ourselves, the focus turns to your own courage, wisdom and confidence as you look for everyday opportunities to share your faith.

Alongside the videos are free resources to help you put what you're learning into practice, including a Praying Forward guide for reflection and discussion, a prayer card, a five-day Bible reading plan on YouVersion and a podcast playlist. The videos can also be downloaded for use in small groups, prayer gatherings and church settings.

Praying Forward is made to be shared. You could work through the series with your small group, use it to encourage prayer in your church, or simply send it to someone who has been faithfully praying for a friend or family member.

More ways to pray

Praying Forward is just one of the ways Elim Prayer is helping individuals and churches develop a rhythm of prayer.

Throughout 2026, new prayer videos are being released monthly on our website (elim.org.uk/prayer), Elim Prayer socials (Facebook and Instagram @ElimPrayerUK), and YouTube (elim.org.uk/youtube) to provide a shared focus for prayer across the Elim movement.

And if you'd like something to use week by week, all 52 weekly prayers from 2025 remain available on the Elim Prayer website, giving you a ready-made prayer for every week of the year.
