How to be filled with the Holy Spirit

Be filled again—come to Jesus, ask in faith, and overcome fear, doubt, and insecurity.

Session 6 - How to be filled with the Holy Spirit

This session is a practical and pastoral guide to receiving the Spirit’s fullness: the cost paid by Jesus, the invitation to ask, and common barriers like doubt, fear, and feelings of inadequacy.

Key themes

  •
Every gift of God flows to us from the cross, and the Holy Spirit is given as God’s gift to His people.
  •
Repentance and receiving Jesus as Lord is foundational to receiving all God wants to do in our lives.
  •
Hunger and thirst for God positions us to come to Jesus and receive more of His Spirit.
  •
Asking Jesus to fill us is a faith-response to God’s invitation.
  •
Doubt can be met by choosing to believe God’s Word over our feelings and questions.
  •
Fear can be met by trusting the Father’s goodness and the goodness of His gifts.
  •
Inadequacy can be met by remembering God gives His Spirit to those who ask, not those who “deserve.”
