The Elim Evangelism Conference is growing

A day of listening, learning and releasing a new generation of evangelists

There's something shifting in the way we talk about evangelism across Elim, and this year's Evangelism Conference helped us put words to it.

The theme was LISTEN. Not a technique or a tool, but a posture. Listening, really listening, to God, to our communities, and to what the Spirit is stirring across our movement. For a room full of people passionate about sharing Jesus, it was a moment of recalibration.

Throughout the day, voices from across Elim and the wider church helped us tune in to a better narrative. Dr Rachel Jordan-Wolfe from Hope Together helped us listen to what God is doing nationwide, often in places we've stopped expecting. Mark Pugh called us to discern what the Spirit is saying about evangelism among us. Dr Tania Harris guided us in listening to God with greater clarity in our everyday witness. Worship from Noel Robinson and intercession led by Noel and Sarah Whittleston became the heartbeat of the day.

Here's one of the best parts: young people are catching the vision. Students and young adults came along, eager to learn and ready to step into their calling. They left inspired by the statistics showing how many people are genuinely open to hearing about Jesus. They were encouraged by practical teaching on how to reach out with confidence. And for some, it opened their eyes to a deeper walk with the Holy Spirit and a fresh sense of how God speaks into everyday life. Seeing the next generation hungry for evangelism, equipped and expectant, is one of the most hopeful signs of what's ahead.

And it's not just inspiring individuals. Churches are coming as teams and returning home with renewed vision. Pete Milwood, pastor at Elim Gloucester, said: "As a pastor I am so glad I came to the Evangelism Conference and more so, that I brought church members with me. The teaching and atmosphere was inspirational and as a local church we have benefitted from church members leading people to the Lord and setting up an Evangelism Team."

Sarah and Paul Stacey, who've attended three years running, put it this way: "Whether you class yourself as an evangelist or not, if you're passionate about reaching the lost for Jesus, this is for you! You will come away from the day, Equipped, educated and prepared as you step out in faith."

Here's the good news: evangelism is no longer a solo sport. Churches are recognising and releasing the evangelistic grace together. When we listen to God and to our neighbours, we become communities where stories of Jesus are welcomed, questions are safe, and hope has room to grow.
