Ways to serve on a team

Welcome and venue team coordinators

Responsible for ensuring the volunteer teams provide a great welcome experience for our delegates and continuing to serve both them and our speakers throughout the event. You will need to be able to manage people, plan workloads and delegate well. You’ll also need to be flexible, able to stay calm under pressure, keep smiling even when you are tired and be prepared to meet needs as they arise.

Welcome and venue team

A varied role includes greeting
people at the main doors, event registration, assisting speakers, stewarding and venue set up for various sessions. As you will play a key role in setting the atmosphere for the event, we are looking for warm, friendly people for this role – so you’ll need to be able to keep a smile on your face even in difficult situations.

Hospitality coordinator

Responsible for leading the hospitality team in serving our guest speakers and Elim’s National Leadership Team (NLT). Requires good communication skills, demonstrating respect and honour for our guests and speakers. Responsible for ensuring that snacks and drinks are restocked throughout the event and maintaining a clean and tidy hospitality lounge and volunteer space. You must be a driver with your own vehicle and prepared to go to Cash & Carry during the event.

Hospitality

Responsible for serving our guest speakers, Elim’s National Leadership Team and volunteers. Guide guest speakers to venues, run the hospitality lounge and create a culture of honour and value for our guests. You will also be involved in ensuring that the hospitality lounge and the volunteer space are kept clean and tidy throughout the day.

Stage Assistant

Assist the Stage Manager with the running of the main auditorium stage. You’ll perform duties such as carrying the lectern onto the stage, ensuring speakers have the correct microphone and are in place to go on at the right time, etc. You may also be required to help in other venues during the Summit.

Social Media Assistant

Assist with promoting the event throughout the three days. You must be experienced with Twitter and Instagram, be creative in taking great social media photos and videos, and have a good knowledge of social media protocol, along with knowledge of current best practices.

The success of the Elim Leaders Summit requires a team of energetic volunteers. We’ll provide you with accommodation in a shared hotel room along with breakfast, two meals a day at Harrogate Convention Centre and entry to the event.

We welcome all sorts of people onto our teams, young and old! You just need to be at least 18 years of age on 30 April 2024; committed to spending the time serving wherever required; be prepared to be the first to arrive and the last to leave; be available from 12.00pm on Monday 13 May to 6.30pm on Thursday 16 May 2024.
