Elim Sound join the Elim Global Asia conference

Suzanne Hanna and Fiona Crow share about their recent trip to Manila in the Philippines where they attended the Elim Global Asia conference.

Suzanne Hanna (Elim Sound Core Team)

It was such a privilege to serve at the recent Elim Global Asia conference in Manila.  Alongside Fiona Crow and a fantastic band of Filipino nationals we served in worship as representatives of Elim Sound throughout the 4 day conference.

With over 9 countries represented and in partnership with Elim Global and Elim Missions, the unique opportunity to gather as God’s ‘BIG family’ and share fellowship with so many church planters and missionaries was a powerful experience of encountering God, sharing testimony and building the Kingdom! From our shared times of worship,  Word and discussion to the personal times of reflection and ministry I was reminded of the rich history we share in Elim worldwide and the glorious ‘common ground’ we share in Christ!

Psalm 67 v 1-2 says, ‘May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations,’ and these verses were indeed our portion! As so many beautiful accents lifted up the name of Jesus, we knew the blessing of the Fathers grace-filled presence and at the heart of it all was a deep worshipful desire to see salvation spring up in all the mission stations and countries represented.

As the conference came to a close I realised it had not only been a place of refreshing and equipping but it had also served to be a sacred space of recommissioning for us all! Let’s remember the work of Elim in Asia today and pray that God would multiply the efforts of our tireless missionaries.

Fiona Crow (Scotland Region Leader)

I had the privilege of  travelling to Rizal, just outside of Manila, Philippines to lead worship as part of the Elim Global Asia Conference. After two epic flights we arrived at Punta De Fabian in the dark just after 1am, bleary eyed and in need of some rest. It was only when we got up in the morning that we realised we were in a resort on the side of a mountain with the most beautiful view over to Laguna Lake.

We were so warmly welcomed and we soon realised why Filipinos are famous for their hospitality.  The conference delegates were Elim Global partners from south east Asia including Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Samoa. Many of them were church leaders, some of them responsible for entire church networks. Many of them had planted multiple churches. I felt so blessed to be in their company, learning about their projects and hearing their heart to bring God’s love to their part of the world.

We spent 3 and half days learning, laughing, connecting and worshipping together.

My reflections now that I’m back home in (not so sunny) Scotland? This was a 6 day whirlwind trip for me, I feel like I caught a glimpse of the beauty of God’s church, his worshipping people,  united in purpose and totally in love with Jesus. It was an honour that I won’t readily forget.
