40acts: Do Lent generously

40 days. 40 reflections. 40 challenges to make a difference.

40acts is the generosity challenge from Christian charity Stewardship, turning Lent into a season of intentional generosity. Instead of only giving something up, you’re invited to give something out.

Each day brings a short reflection and a challenge to carry out an act of generosity where you live, work, study and worship. Let this Lent be preparation for a lifetime of big-heartedness that reflects God’s generosity.

Why take part?

Tens of thousands have already discovered how practical generosity can change the atmosphere in homes, streets, and communities. 40acts helps you build a rhythm that lasts beyond Easter.

Think of choosing water instead of a takeaway coffee and donating the difference. Or turning the TV off for an hour to help a neighbour. These simple acts often open great conversations about faith and God’s kindness.

Resources for everyone

Whether you’re doing 40acts on your own or with others, there is plenty to get you started and keep you going:

  • Free downloads: social media images, wall charts, and all-age Sunday resources
  • For groups: ready-to-use materials for churches, small groups, schools, and youth groups
  • For families: simple ideas to practise generosity together at home
  • For prayer: Lent prayers you can read and share, including prayers written for children
