A century of shaping leaders for Elim and beyond

Regents Theological College Marks 100 Years of Ministry Training.

This year, Regents Theological College proudly celebrates 100 years of equipping men and women for ministry and mission. Founded by Elim pioneers George Jeffreys and E.J. Phillips, the college was born from a vision to provide theological and experiential training for a new generation of leaders. A century later, that vision remains alive and vital.

Throughout its history, Regents — formerly known as Elim Bible College — has consistently released students ready to serve the Kingdom of God. Through a rich combination of rigorous theological study, prayer, and life within a strong Christian community, Regents has been a place where ‘iron sharpens iron’, producing leaders who have impacted not only Elim but the wider Church and society.

Today, Regents stands as one of Europe’s leading Pentecostal theological colleges. It offers a range of programmes designed to meet the needs of the modern Church, including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Applied Theology, a Ministry Foundation Certificate, and supervised PhD studies. Through the Institute for Pentecostal Theology, Regents also preserves and makes available vital archives from Elim and other Pentecostal streams.

Alongside its main campus, Regents London operates in partnership with Kensington Temple, while the Regents LIFE platform extends flexible online learning to students around the world.

As the challenges facing Christian leadership evolve, Regents continues to adapt. New initiatives include a Church Ministry Programme for volunteers, members, and leaders, as well as bespoke training opportunities for those already serving in ministry. Yet the heart of the College remains unchanged: to form people deeply rooted in Christ, ready to be effective witnesses wherever God may call them.

To support further study, scholarships are now available for Elim credentialled ministers, Ministers in Training (MITs), and their spouses — offering 50% funding towards undergraduate degrees and 25% towards postgraduate qualifications.

For those considering further study, Regents hosts regular Open Days both on campus and online, providing an opportunity to meet the faculty, engage with current students, and explore how Regents could support their calling.

A century on, Regents remains committed to training, empowering, and releasing leaders to serve the Kingdom of God — for Elim, and for the world.
