Team leader
Team leaders will be responsible for leading a team in providing a great welcome for our delegates continuing to serve both them, our special guests and speakers throughout the event in various venues. You will also need to oversee and co-ordinate the hospitality suite serving our special guests and Elim’s national leadership team. Additionally, you will need to be able to manage the other volunteers, plan workloads, and delegate well.
You’ll also need to be flexible, able to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly and keep smiling even when you are tired. You should be prepared to meet needs as they arise and work alongside the ELS staff to ensure smooth running of the conference.
Welcome and venue team
Being part of the Welcome & Venue Team will be a varied role ranging from greeting people on the main doors and booking people in, to assisting speakers to set up and make sure they have all they need in the various rooms before meetings. You will also help each day to set up the venue for our Business Sessions as well as welcoming people and stewarding in the main venue.
As you will play a key role in setting the atmosphere for the event, we will be looking for warm, friendly people for this role – you’ll need to be able to keep a smile on your face even in difficult situations.
Hospitality
Being on the Hospitality team will involve serving our guest speakers, Elim’s National Leadership Team, and invited guests. You’ll be responsible for escorting guestspeakersto the venues, running the hospitality suite, and creating a culture of honour and value for our guests.
You will also be involved in ensuring that the hospitality suite and the volunteer space is kept clean and tidy throughout the day.
Photography assistant
There may be an opportunity for this part time role, the times of which will be clarified nearer the time. You will support the photographer to upload and sort photos for the communications team to use on social media. This role will only take up a small amount of time on Tuesday and Wednesday and therefore you will also be a part of the welcome and venue team for the remainder of the time.
You will need to be competent in IT and media for this role and be able to work efficiently and skilfully as well as take instruction from the photographer. You will also be flexible enough to mix and match your roles according to the needs of the team.
