LEFT TO THEIR OWN DEVICES
Helping Kids Stay Close to God While Online

  • Are your kids spending too much time on their phones
  • What’s the impact of social media on kids?
  • Worried about what your children are seeing online?
  • How can we help young people use screens in a healthy way?
  • Can we enjoy phones without getting addicted?

In a world where smartphones, social media, and constant connectivity shape so much of our children’s and young people’s lives, how can we as adults help them navigate it all with wisdom and faith?

This online event - Left to their Own Devices - is designed for parents, youth leaders, and anyone in church leadership who wants to understand the digital pressures facing the next generation and offer meaningful support.

Drawing on insights from bestselling book, author Katharine Hill of Care for the Family, will explore how to guide children and teens to enjoy technology without becoming addicted or distracted. From TikTok and cat videos to online gaming, the digital world is designed to capture attention.

But what impact does that have on our faith as we grow in God, alongside our wider relationships, and mental wellbeing?

We’ll unpack practical strategies like creating tech-free zones, encouraging ‘Scripture before screens’, and developing healthy habits around devices. You’ll also learn how to model good digital behaviour yourself, set helpful boundaries, and ask the right questions in a world shaped by algorithms and AI. This workshop will equip you to help young people place technology in its proper place - so it serves their lives, rather than shaping them.

Come and be inspired with lots of practical takeaways, and space to ask questions.
