Hungary

I am in my early twenties and am from Paisley in Scotland.

For the past 2 years I have been doing short term mission trips to Hungary. While I was there God really started putting rough sleepers and Mercy Ministries on my heart and I felt God was saying to move from short term missions to something more permanent.

For the past 9 months, I have been completing Elim’s Missionary Academy which has been such a great way to prepare me and to hear what God's plan is for me in Hungary.

From June 2019, I am moving to Hungary to partner with the homeless/rough sleeper ministry with YWAM and one of the local Hungarian churches. My focus will be on evangelism and getting on to the streets to firstly meet the needs of the people and building up trust and friendships with them. This will then enable me to share the love of Jesus for them.

For the first year I will be attending Hungarian language classes. Learning the local language is very important to me and it is a great way to connect with Hungarians on a deeper level.

I will also have a tent-making ministry (working in a coffee shop) and that way I will be emerged into the culture and the language.

35"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Matthew 25:35-40
