Those of us in youth ministry will have experienced the pain of investing in a young person for five years, only to watch on sadly as they exit the journey when their faith comes under increased pressure and scrutiny having left home for university. The intention of the Limitless Young Adults venue is twofold. Firstly, to help young people with this crucial transition, enabling them to navigate their faith in a new landscape. And secondly, to provide a space for the hard working youth leaders to a take a session or two to receive some investment for themselves.
However, we are aware that because of this offering, there will be 18+ year olds on site who may not be DBS checked. The safety of our young people is absolutely paramount, and as such this is taken into proper consideration, enabling the Limitless Young Adults Venue to run smoothly for several years without any incident.
In order to limit unnecessary interaction, we will camp 18+ who are not with a younger group, in a village of their own to limit any issues. All 18+ will have to adhere to the camp rules, specifically, no alcohol on site. Other interaction on a day to day basis is treated much the same as your young person attending their local church, where there will be many 18+ year olds present without a DBS check. There are stewards around as well as a chat room, info and comms to approach if you have any concerns at all on site.
Those young people aged 17 and over and coming Limitless Festival with their youth groups are welcome to participate in the Limitless Young Adults programme, but those aged 16 and below will not be admitted to the venue.
