Academic Administrator

Regents Theological College is the National Training Centre of the Elim Pentecostal Church and one of the leading Pentecostal Bible Colleges in Europe. It provides a range of theology courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, all validated by the University of Chester.

The College is now looking for an enthusiastic person who wants to join their administrative team, with a specific focus on the postgraduate programmes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the smooth running of academic programmes, especially postgraduate programmes:
    • Assisting with the orientation of new students at the start of the academic year.
    • Updating the Regents Student Portal including assessment links and student enrolment.
    • Updating the Quercus database, especially the records of postgraduate students.
    • Recording and issuing minutes for the Postgraduate Programme Committee three times per academic year.
    • Regularly liaising with the Dean of Postgraduate Studies.
    • Generating information to help students when they are off site in partnership with the Dean of Postgraduate Studies and other relevant academic or administrative staff.
    • Responding promptly to postgraduate student enquiries in relation to their programme of study.
  • Liaising with relevant University departments as required:
    • Registration, enrolment, and progress of students.
    • Processing information on E-vision.
    • Module Assessment Boards, particularly for postgraduate programmes.
  • Engaging in general administration support as required:
    • Working with the Academic Administration Supervisor responding to e-mail queries.
    • Monitoring paper submissions and follow up.
    • Engaging in general office duties such as telephone and face to face enquiries, printing, copying, shredding, and filing.
    • Liaising with the Student Services Team, the Lecturing Faculty, the Academic Registrar and other on-site departments as required.
 

An academic database is due to be launched shortly and this may change aspects of the role. An element of flexibility and adaptability will therefore be required of the successful applicant as the role develops.

Negotiated flexibility regarding usual working schedules may be requested at some key times in the academic year, notably during the orientation week for new students at the start of the academic year and potentially also during the running of postgraduate modules at the college campus, (currently four days per module with approximately six modules currently occurring during an academic year September to May).

  • Salary: £ 19,500 - £ 21,000
  • Permanent Contract: Part-Time (3 days per week)
