Human Resources Manager (Interim Role)

The HR Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for all aspects of HR and immigration responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities include

  • Oversee the creation, distribution and recording of accurate employee documentation within the department for all new starters, current employees and leavers;
  • Ensure regular checks made on employee paperwork, including right to work, driving licenses etc;
  • Work with payroll to ensure employees are paid correctly;
  • Maintain and develop for operational, compliance and employee benefit the HR software system to ensure it is maximized as a resource and works effectively and efficiently to support the HR team, employees and directors;
  • Maintain accurate records for employee sickness including return to work forms, completing standard sickness reviews and flagging high-level sickness to Directors;
  • Liaise with legal advisors to ensure actions taken within the organisation are consistently carried out in accordance with their advice;
  • Provide consultancy advice to EFGA churches and answer HR queries, after taking advice where necessary, in a consistent, efficient and straightforward manner;
  • Manage all organisation benefit schemes and maintain accurate records e.g. employee anniversaries, childcare vouchers, Health Cashback Scheme;
  • Undertake formal investigations and hearings under the organisation handbook procedures where directed by the directors and when processes are undertaken by them, support them through note taking, investigative pack creation and conclusion drafting;
  • Make any required documentation changes in line with procedural change, employment law updates and annual revisions and arrange for the new documentation to be appropriately launched out to the organisation;
  • Organise performance reviews by formulating questions. Ensure that both management and employees complete the appraisal before the given deadline;
  • Organise recruitment by supporting directors and line-managers;
  • Publish vacancies on the website using the ATS system and correspond with all candidates throughout the process;
  • Formulate interview questions and coach and support interview leads in conducting interviews. Be present at interviews to ensure compliance;
  • Answer immigration queries, after taking advice where necessary, in a consistent, efficient and straightforward manner;
  • Apply and process COS applications for new prospective non-EU citizen employees;
  • Maintain records on non-EU employees currently employed by EFGA and take appropriate action before visas have expired.

Digital Learning Facilitator

Regents Theological College is the National Training Centre of the Elim Pentecostal Church and one of the leading Pentecostal Bible Colleges in Europe. It provides a range of theology courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, all validated by the University of Chester

The post holder will be responsible for providing appropriate hands-on IT support, working collaboratively with the College Leadership Team, Elim IT services, Academic Deans, Lecturers and Student Support Services, to ensure that appropriate technologies and techniques are utilized to deliver the best possible experience for all our customers, including staff, students and external collaborators.

  • Development of a marketable distance learning delivery in conjunction with module leaders, to add value to Regents existing programs by increasing flexibility and numbers on courses.
  • Develop effective digital pedagogy through innovation, training and support of all staff.
  • Overall management of the VLE systems including platform and upgrade recommendations to support learning.
  • Set up, advise and support lecturing team on effective IT systems to enable remote teaching and learning.
  • Working with IT department and student services to ensure students have effective access and support to Regents digital systems.

Assistant Lecturer

Regents Theological College is the National Training Centre of the Elim Pentecostal Church and one of the leading Pentecostal Bible Colleges in Europe. It provides a range of theology courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, all validated by the University of Chester

The successful candidate will support the development, management and delivery of modules in theology, and function as an academic tutor. They will particularly support faculty involved in the Science for Seminaries project at Regents Theological College.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Help manage, teach and first mark 2 to 3 modules on the undergraduate programme.
  • Lecture as requested by other module leaders.
  • 2nd mark assessments at levels 4 to 6.
  • Provide research and admin support for faculty involved in the 'Science for Seminaries' project, particularly the project leader.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Contribute to the devotional life of the college.

PA to the Finance Director

The Central Finance Department is responsible for managing and reporting of the charity’s finances, nationally and centrally, supporting the Trustees, and local churches alongside the ministries and departments that operate from Elim International Centre in Malvern. This includes the preparation and publication of the annual Financial Statements, providing regular management reports to aid budget management and decision-making, and supporting the Trustees, local churches alongside the ministries and departments that operate from Elim International Centre in Malvern.

Your role is to provide administration support to the Finance Director (FD)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing admin support to the FD in the fulfilment of his responsibilities
  • Monitoring the FD email account and assisting with responses
  • Diary: Managing FD’ diary
  • Answering the telephone for Finance Department: Being the first point of contact to callers ringing the Finance Department; directing calls to members of the Finance Team;
  • Petty Cash (PC): being responsible for EIC Petty Cash box;
  • Post: Opening and distributing the post to the Finance Department.
  • Directing information that comes in via email to other members of the team, or redirect to local churches where appropriate. Scanning as necessary.
  • Preparation for meetings: making sure FD has all the necessary information in advance for meetings and assisting with reports.
  • Building Projects
  • Support the FD in his work on capital projects - central and local churches.
  • Maintaining schedule of current building projects as background for BP committee and Management Board agenda and ongoing project management.
  • Travel: making and booking FD travel arrangements when travel is necessary.
  • Outcome: FD only has to go – all is arranged beforehand.
  • Catering Requests: booking these for members of the Finance Department; filing the booking in Catering requests; checking on a monthly basis that the charges we received from Catering Manager are correct.
  • Pastoral Care Fund (PCF): emailing receipts out to those receiving PCF; filing receipts; filing confirmation when received.
  • Annual Ministers credential renewal
  • Assist with monitoring on FD activity
  • Subscriptions: updating subscriptions as requested by FD. Outcome: subscriptions are up to date;
  • Finance Officer details: updating Aptify when there is a change in finance officer at a Church. Notifying various staff of this change;
  • EMPF Suspension: receive instruction from the Church Services Manager, print off standard letters for FD signature and posting.
  • Utilities: dealing with “cold calls” to the Department; dealing with utility enquiries from Churches and liaising with Utility Aid (Elim’s energy broker) on enquiries received from Churches; updating Elim’s master energy schedule.
  • ELS Retired Ministers: contacting retired ministers via FD’s circular email regarding ELS and their retired minister’s grant. Receiving response and collecting necessary details for payment; preparing payment request for FD’s approval and sending through to Finance Department in order that the payment can be made.
  • Miscellaneous: Interest free loans; drawing up cheques as requested; drawing up Payment Requests as requested by FD; setting up conference calls. Keep finance staff attendance record, emailed to FD daily.

Part-time Shop Manager

The shop manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the operation of The Sugarloaf Café & Shop. The role is the public face of Elim to the local community and it is a very important element of the role to be able to represent Elim’s values and beliefs in all aspects of the shop’s operations. Therefore a knowledge of, and sympathy with, the Christian faith and with the ethos of Elim, and a willingness to be fully supportive of Christian outreach activities organised by the local church and students is required.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • To lead and manage a small team of part time staff and students, ensuring they are trained in all areas of the operation and that rotas are maintained to cover the extensive shop opening hours;
  • To ensure stock is ordered as required and that appropriate stock levels are maintained;
  • To offer a high quality service to all types of customer such as students, Elim staff, local residents and tourists;
  • Represent Elim as a positive influence on the community and which meets customer needs in an effective, friendly and engaging way;
  • To manage the financial side of the operation including sales, pricing, budget management and cost control;
  • In liaison with HR, to recruit new staff as required;
  • To serve in the shop; this includes making coffee from a barista machine and the preparation of a range of hot food;
  • To undertake all management paperwork associated with the shop including timesheets and invoices;
  • Checking stock input to the till system and performing a stock take at the end of financial year with regular monthly checks;
  • To consider creatively, ways of generating additional income for the shop and leveraging from other activities taking place in and around the Elim campus, such as performances in the theatre;
  • To be responsible for the Food Hygiene and Health and Safety standards of the shop.
