MINISTER'S DAY

OF CONSECRATION & COMMISSIONING

Wednesday 7 January 2015

To mark the 100 year anniversary of the birth of Elim, over 600 Elim ministers joined together for a day of celebration, consecration and prayer in Birmingham and 150 leaders in Monaghan, the birth place of Elim.

A century earlier, in Monaghan, Ireland, a small group of young men had invited welsh evangelist George Jeffreys to hold some meetings. Their fervour and faith drew him there. And on 7 January 1915, in the Temperance Hall, the Elim Evangelistic Band was formed to spread the Christian gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit to Ireland and beyond.

The Birmingham Christian Centre hosted ministers from as far as Scotland and Cornwall on Wednesday 7 January 2015. With times of worship, impartation and prayer, exhortation was from some of Elim’s leaders was brought to inspire and challenge leaders.

Elim Sound led times of worship, including a special centenary anthem, ahead of a new album release in May 2015. There were times of honouring those who had gone ahead of us, as well as taking time to acknowledge the work of bi-vocational pastors.

The day also saw the official launch of Defining Moments, a 176 page photographic book that captures moments from a century of Elim, along with its current work and focus.

Towards the end of the day, veteran minister John Lancaster prayed for Elim and its further, followed by ministers reconsecrating their vows.

Below are three audio clips from the day and two short videos that were shown, along with images and messages shared on social media that include links for you to like, favourite and share.
